Whether you want to admit it or not the 80’s holds a special place in all of our hearts. The clothes. the music. Molly Ringwald. It was (to me) the decade for trend setting, self expression. In interior design there are very few that have attempted and pulled it off. Kelly Wearstler being the queen of it.
I started a moodboard this morning for an “anything goes” client of mine. When I met her she had on leggings and her condo had tons of brass, and in conversation her favorite memories were that of her 81 Trans Am (you know the one with the gold bird on the hood),being in her dis-tastefully decorated school gym, and slow dancing to simple minds – I had to wonder – could I be more closer to designing for myself than this?!
Here is what I have dream’t up so far:
Yep – Just enough mauve and teal to make the entire cast of the Golden Girls happy!
