Cute Post. Kids Stuff in a Grown Space.

From Domaine Home

As all of my adult readers, with children, know today is Columbus Day and the kids are out of school. We are hanging out with the little people, trying to have fun and keep them mildly entertained. So in the spirit of today I am re-blogging a post that I found on Domain Home.

Designing duo Emily Current and Meritt Elliott share their new PBteen collection and give us the scoop on how to use kids pieces without ending up in a dollhouse.

As the brains behind Current/Elliott and frequent style experts on Who What Wear, designers Emily Current and Meritt Elliott are aces at solving your fashion conundrums. Having just launched a home collection with PBTeen, the duo unveils their whimsical new line of furniture and accessories, and share why these pieces also work well in homes of the young at heart.

Pick Classic Shapes: “We wanted to create timeless pieces that nodded to adventure, pieces that felt youthful in spirit but could live in a more sophisticated environment,” Current explains. To that end, spring for a denim chaise lounge, which pairs a stately shape with casual upholstery. Denim Chaise Lounge, $799

Look For Lighting: Not only are kids’ lamps cheaper, but you’ll find really unique options, like the Bunny Lamp they did for the collection. “A fun lamp in an otherwise simple space can illuminate the room with style,” says Elliott.
