What you may not know about me is that one of my aspirations is to have the largest interior design book collection in the United States. Seriously – ask anyone. Design books are my obsession. About a year ago, that continuing obsession lead me to purchase the book Fashion House: Illustrated Interiors from the Icons of Style by Megan Hess.
I have read about 25% of the design books I own. This particular one went into the pile of unread. There it sat on the shelves, in fact for about nine months, until this past week I decided to take it with me on a flight to Austin, Texas. OM-GAWD talk about inspiration!
Megan Hess is an uber-watt fashion illustrator who has illustrated for prestigious fashion designers and luxury brands around the world. We are talking brands such as Chanel, Dior, Cartier, Montblanc and Tiffany and Co. *The latter being my fav!
DAMN RIGHT! Fashion illustration is so inspiring on its own, then Megan turned it into inspiration for interior design and designers. Start your Pinterest and up moodboards people.
I am in full restraint mode here, wanting oh so badly to post images from her house tour with Instyle magazine.
Maybe Next time.
